The xBusiness Transformation Process Continues

We launched DLA Ignite in September 2016 with the objective to transform business and to transform the way business works today.

People laughed, as you would expect. How could a start-up change the world? Surely there are far cleverer companies out there?

We did our research and not one talked about digital transformation through the use of social media. Many talked about digital transformation through blockchain, IOT or other technology platforms. This all seemed like a trap propagated by technology suppliers. Maybe I should not be so harsh but digital transformation from an IT supplier is now just a sales pitch for their products.

Social is obvious to us. It’s used by everybody externally to an organisation so there are no complicated screens to learn. Since stating DLA Ignite we have also found that social internally is also pretty commonplace. We use Slack but there are many other products such as Glip from RingCentral, Teams from Microsoft etc.

So we already have the foundation and the technology platform in place. We all know how to use Social in our personal lives. We know that as humans we are social. From the early days when we were on the Serengeti we realised that talking might help us not be eaten by a lion on that day. Social is natural and friction less.

So where to start this transformation?

We started with Sales, a comfort zone. Our Social Selling programs are now repeatable and predictable. We can run them time and again and we know the outcomes. 30% increase in new / incremental revenue and 40% cutting of the sales cycles.

Once we had sales “bedded down” we moved onto the next department. But which one? We asked our reseller / partners what they wanted next and they said “Human Resources”. So on 16th and 17th September we launched our Social Human Resources module.

That means we have Social Sales and Social Human Resources, we then move onto the next module. What do you think? Should it be Marketing, Customer Service, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, etc, etc? You tell us! Which area of business would you like to transformed by Social? With Sales we have been able to strip out cost and increase efficiency and output. We hope to do the same with Human Resources, so where else do we need to increase effectiveness?

Why are we doing this?

We believe that Social Media is the number one change technology of our time. Social has already changed Sales, changing just one department is a random act of Social. It’s time to commit to an across business transformation.
