I’m sitting in a session with one of our clients as part of our 12 week social selling program and today is the blogging session. To set an example I always write a blog, so here it is.

Today, when I sat down in our session on blogging I was sitting next to the sales leader and he got out his mobile phone and checked what was happening on his drive at home.

So here we are sitting in London and we can see what is happening on his drive 200 miles away. I asked him about it and he has a ring.com door bell. He had received a notification in his phone. (It was that his 17 year old was going on a driving lesson.). Can you imagine it, who would have thought you can add a video and a speaker to a door bell and watch what’s going on.

Of course the whole idea of this is so you can let people drop off parcels.

So what what has this got to do with selling?

Well there are people out there, ironically on social, who say that sales as not changed.

Come on people. The internet, mobile and social media have made massive changes to the world.

I started selling before the world of email, before the mass expectance of personal computers and before Netflix. Yes, there was a world before these technologies and these changes have also taken place “recently” in the history of the world.  But can we really imagine a world before the internet, social media and mobile? Well some of us can and some people seem to think we still live in that world.

Come on, there is an overwhelming stack of evidence that shows the world of sales has changed

If You look at the Digital 2019: Global Digital Overview that Hootsuite and We are Social Create link here https://datareportal.com/reports/digital-2019-global-digital-overview here are some facts:-

There are 5.11 billion unique mobile users in the world today, up 100 million (2 percent) in the past year.

There are 4.39 billion internet users in 2019, an increase of 366 million (9 percent) versus January 2018.

There are 3.48 billion social media users in 2019, with the worldwide total growing by 288 million (9 percent) since this time last year.

3.26 billion people use social media on mobile devices in January 2019, with growth of 297 million new users representing a year-on-year increase of more than 10 percent.

And people cannot see how social can help them in the world of sales and marketing, it is where you clients are, after all.

That’s it, just a quick blog as an example, why not give it a try?
