Before we start let’s define heuristic bias.
In psychology, heuristics are simple, efficient rules which people often use to form judgments and make decisions. They are mental shortcuts that usually involve focusing on one aspect of a complex problem and ignoring others.
Here in the world of Social Selling we will carry on about it and I’m sorry to say we are not going away, basically because it works. When people are able to get deals larger and quicker than legacy methods, ideas like this stick.
It was in April 2015 that we proved the ROI with my article “How to get 10 C-Level Meetings using Twitter”, it was this article that killed the lack of ROI argument once and for all. In fact I haven’t seen anybody use the “no ROI in social Selling” since then.
That means there is a ROI in Social Selling.
Let me write that again, there is an ROI in Social Selling.
Let me put that another way, if you are not social selling, you are leaving money on the table. Period.
This is were your plans suffer from a heuristics bias.
The scary thing is since then things have moved on. My book “Social Selling – Influencing Buyers and Changemakers” sales are off the scale. This is because that salespeople are not getting the leadership they so desperately need by sales management. heuristics bias yet again by management.
We have also proved now that the return on social selling is so big, we proved it has a 10x return than coldcalling it means any combination method will just leave you behind.
Heuristics bias is again leaving you behind.
Can Marketing save us? Unfortunately not.
Marketing and the new world of digital marketing has gone down the pan. Many people seemed to think that digital marketing would save us for fifty years to come.
In fact, digital marketing is over.
Nobody looks at adverts, in a post GDPR world, email marketing died, nobody answers cold calls. In fact many of us use the technology available to us such as ad-blockers and blockers of emails and calls.
We all know your prospects and customers are on social, time to break free from your heuristics bias?
